have made a fantastic donation to our Department of Biological Sciences
and Geology!* They have donated over 850 carats of emerald, ruby, sapphire,
alexandrite, and even more fantastic gemstones and gem rough to use in
our gemology course.
These lovely creations that mimic natural gemstones in all their physical and chemical properties are as impressive as natural gems, perhaps even more so, since they are made using scientific methods that allow Tairus to reproduce the finest colors and qualities of natural examples.
The donation, worth thousands of dollars, is impressive and beautiful, but it is the gemstones' scientific and educational value that is most important. Our students will be able to handle and observe a product that is rarely available except in jewelry that is well beyond our budget.
