Scholarship and Awards

Award Description

SUN AWARD:
Presented to a legally documented, full-time matriculated student in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Mathematics-Education, with 3.3+ GPA, at least 12 credits in math, and a B+ or better in MA-441 and MA-442. Include a letter of recommendation from a math faculty member and a short statement describing the student's future educational career goals.

SIDNEY ARAK AWARD:
Presented to a graduating student of foreign birth who achieves excellence in Mathematics and Computer Science and has completed, at a minimum, the calculus sequence.

FARBER AWARD:
Presented to a student, with an outstanding performance in any credit-bearing course, as high level as possible.

ALLEN BARNES AWARD:
Presented to an outstanding student who distinguished himself/herself as a member of the Math Club, Math Team, or as a math tutor.

MATH AND COMPUTER SCIENCE AWARD:
Presented to a male or female student with outstanding performance in a credit-bearing course. Can also be given to a student with the best math presentation in class or in a math activity.

BURT KLEINMAN AWARD:
Presented to a legally documented, full-time matriculated student in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Mathematics-Education, with 3.3+ GPA, at least 12 credits in math, and a B+ or better in MA-441 and MA-442. Include a letter of recommendation from a math faculty member and a short statement describing the student's future educational career goals.

OUR SUN Endowment:
Eligibility Requirements: 1. Full-time matriculating status 2. A GPA of 3.0 or better 3. Completion of either MA 905 or MA 906 with at least a B+ in the course. 4. Legally documented student with one of the following: F1 student visa, Permanent Resident or US Citizen
