When and where is this year's commencement ceremony taking place?
Queensborough Community College’s 64th Annual Commencement Ceremony will take place in-person (rain or shine) on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 10:00 am on the Queensborough Athletic Field.

How do I RSVP for the ceremony?

How many guests can graduates bring to the ceremony?
Graduates can bring up to four (4) guests. Also, each graduate must have a separate graduate ticket for themself.

Will the ceremony be livestreamed?

Can we park on campus on the day of the ceremony?
Yes, all parking lots on campus will be open for graduates and their guests to park their vehicle on a space available basis.

Is there a rehearsal for the ceremony?
There is no rehearsal for the ceremony.

How long is the ceremony expected to last?
The ceremony will last two (2) hours.

How will I be notified about the ceremony?
Graduation candidates will receive an email to their Office365 student email and/or CUNYfirst preferred email inviting them to participate in the ceremony. The email will contain a link to RSVP on Eventbrite and a separate link to order your cap & gown online.

How much is the cap & gown and where can I buy it?
The cost of the cap & gown is $50.55 ($34.33 for cap & gown + $14.90 shipping + $1.32 tax), and the deadline for online orders is Friday, May 2, 2025. Orders placed between Saturday, May 3 through Thursday, May 15, 2025 will incur an increased shipping cost of $21.30, for a new grand total of $56.95 ($34.33 for cap & gown + $21.30 shipping + $1.32 tax).

Class of 2025 graduates who are a part of the ASAP Program will receive their cap & gown free of charge. These students will receive an email from the ASAP Department to complete a form and reserve their regalia for pick up/distribution at a later date.

Are graduates required to purchase a cap & gown to participate in the ceremony?
Yes, all graduates who wish to participate in this year’s ceremony must purchase and wear a cap & gown during the ceremony. If you are part of the ASAP Program, please contact their department they will provide you with a cap & gown free of charge.

Will my name be called at the ceremony?
Yes, all graduates who attend the ceremony in-person will have their name called as they walk across the stage.

How do I apply for graduation?
The Office of Graduation Audit will identify students who have met/will meet the requirements for graduation and process an application on their behalf. Therefore, you do not have to apply. If you have questions about your candidacy for graduation, contact Ms. Ingrid Jaramillo Estrella in the Office of Graduation Audit at IJaramilloEstrella@qcc.cuny.edu.

I am an eligible candidate for graduation but have not received an invitation to participate in the ceremony. Who do I contact?
Send an email to Commencement@qcc.cuny.edu and include your full name and 8-digit student ID number. We will confer with the Office of Graduation Audit to verify candidacy for graduation. If you are, we will send you an invitation for the ceremony to your CUNYfirst preferred email address.

I plan to complete my remaining degree requirements during the summer 2025 semester, can I still participate in the ceremony?
Students who plan to complete their remaining degree requirements during the summer 2025 semester and wish to patriciate in the May 29 ceremony must do the following:

Consult your academic adviser about your remaining degree requirements (you can also check your DegreeWorks dashboard) to see if they can be completed during the summer ‘25 semester.

If your adviser agrees that you can complete your remaining degree requirements during the summer ‘25 semester, you must register for those courses no later than Thursday, May 8, 2025.

After registering, email Ms. Ingrid Jaramillo Estrella at IJaramilloEstrella@qcc.cuny.edu. The email should include your full name, 8-digit EMPL ID# and a brief message indicating your plan to complete your remaining degree requirements during the summer ‘25 semester and desire to participate in the May 29 ceremony. Ms. Jaramillo Estrella will verify your enrollment and, if eligible, your graduation status will be updated in CUNYfirst and you will be put on a list to receive an invitation to the ceremony.

I ordered my cap & gown online and have not yet received it. What should I do?
Click HERE to track your order and be sure to have your internet reference number available. This number can be found on your order confirmation email.

I need a letter from QCC confirming that I am an eligible candidate for graduation, to give to my relatives outside of the USA so they can attend the ceremony. Which office do I contact for this letter?
You can contact the Center for International Affairs at ISC@qcc.cuny.edu (be sure to include your full name and 8-digit EMPL ID# so they can identify you as a student) to formally request this letter.

When will I receive my diploma?
Graduates will receive a digital copy of their diploma within 3-4 months of their graduation conferral date from Parchment Services to their CUNYfirst preferred email address. 3-4 weeks after, a physical diploma will be mailed via USPS to your CUNYfirst home address. Please make sure your name, preferred email, and home address are accurate/up to date in CUNYfirst so, you can receive your diploma in a timely manner.

I am a graduate of QCC but, I have not received my diploma yet and need proof of graduation. What can I do?
You can request your official transcript, download your unofficial transcript, or download your enrollment verification letter from CUNYFirst. Each of these documents will indicate your degree earned, degree conferral date, GPA (Grade Point Average), and major/program of study.
