Course Description in college catalog:
Designed to acquaint the student with the routines of a medical office, including medical records, financial records, correspondence, case histories, medical articles, appointment scheduling, and filing methods. The student will acquire a basic knowledge of medical terminology along with practical applications.

Reason quantitatively and mathematically as required in the daily tasks of the Administrative Medical Assistant using Microsoft Excel for financial procedures.

Apply logical measures in the evaluation of managing medical office procedures and mathematical practices in financial tasks such as employee payroll, patient billing, collections, insurance reimbursement, petty cash.

Use information management and technology skills effectively for academic research and lifelong learning through the use of CONNECT, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Medisoft.
