The QCC community is honored to have lê thị diễm thúy introduce the audience to this year's Welcome Read text: While the Earth Sleeps We Travel: Stories, Poetry, and Art from Young Refugees Around the World, as part of the kick-off lecture series. She will share her experience as a refugee as well as her poetry.
lê thị diễm thúy is a Vietnamese American author, poet, and performance artist. She is the author of the novel, The Gangster We Are All Looking For (Alfred A. Knopf, 2003), the solo performance works, Mua He Do Lua/Red Fiery Summer, the bodies between us, and Carte Postale, and the installation sông song / river song .
This year's Welcome Read text is also the President's Book Club selection for October. This event is open to the entire QCC community.
