The Office of Career Services: Internships and Co-ops
Internships are single-semester, paid or unpaid curriculum-related work experiences designed to help students understand the "real world" applications of their academic studies. Involvement may be part-time, as little as 8-10 hours per week, or full-time. Opportunities are available during summer, fall, or spring semesters. Academic credit may be awarded at the discretion of students' academic departments. Visit our office and make an appointment with the Internship Coordinator to discuss the possibilities.
Cooperative education bridges the gap between the classroom and the world of work by integrating classroom study with related field experience. Students learn about their chosen field of study, gain career experience, and may earn a portion of their college expenses in jobs related to career and personal goals. QCC is committed to cooperative education as a means of strengthening the educational program, keeping the curriculum current, identifying new program areas and increasing community support and involvement.
Prior to registering for a cooperative education course students must meet academic requirements and speak with the department faculty coordinator. Obtain a listing of departments and faculty internship coordinators.
There are a number of ways to find an internship. Check your Office 365 e-mail from Queensborough Community College or take a look at Handshake and Pathful to see what opportunies are available.
