 Elaine Thompson comes to Queensborough with over 25 years of work experience in both the public and private sector.  She received her Masters Degree from Nyack College, where she is presently a member of the Alumni Board of Directors.  In addition to her studies at Nyack, Elaine has completed programs at Hofstra University in Entrepreneurship, and coursework at New York University in Business Etiquette and Career Planning.


Prof. Thompson’s career in higher education began at St. Francis College where she taught communication courses including Introduction to Public Speaking, Group Process, and Interpersonal Communication.


Prof. Thompson began teaching Public Speaking at Queensborough in 2010.  She is actively involved as a faculty advisor for the QCC Mock Trial Team and has coached students preparing for the Business Plan Competition.  Most recently, Prof. Thompson introduced her students to a variety of service learning projects and serves as faculty advisor for the Speech Club.
