Bio
Elizabeth Toohey teaches journalism and advises the student newspaper, the Communiqué. A regular contributor to theChristian Science Monitor, she reviews novels and non-fiction on women's history, postcolonial studies, and American culture. Her writings on 9/11's aftermath as it appears in film and fiction have been published in several peer-reviewed books and journals. Her current research examines journalism as a form of anti-racist pedagogy and immersive learning that promotes stronger student writing and information literacy.
She is a 2021 Knight Visiting Nieman Fellow for the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University.
