My philosophy is that all students can learn and achieve their desired goals. I believe in fostering an environment where students can learn at their own pace and set their own goals, while still adhering to the learning outcomes for the course and without sacrificing academic rigor. I believe in meeting students where they are when they enter my classroom. I do not believe in having preconceived expectations of what they should know. I feel it is my job to guide them to reach the expected course outcomes by the end of the semester. My door is open to them during the semester, throughout their career at CUNY, and should they choose, after they leave and pursue their career goals.

Dr. Edlin has been a full-time member of the faculty at QCC since 2003; first as an instructor and then Assistant and Associate Professor in the Academic Literacy Department, and as Associate Professor in the Department of English since 2016. She also served as an adjunct to both departments in 1996. She teaches in the ALP program, English 101 and has taught English 102 as an independent study. In addition to her teaching responsibilities she serves as on the Academic Senate, The Faculty Executive Committee, and on various departmental committees and initiatives. She volunteers as a Peer Evaluator and Reviewer on the Substantive Change Review Committee for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
