Education

She has a Ph.D. in English Education from New York University, a MA from NYU in Humanities and Social Thought, MA from California State University, Fresno in English Literature, and an AB in English from Occidental College. 

Activities & Interests

Dr. Ford’s scholarship is both academic and personal with her focuses including the use of graphic genre works to teach critical literacy; intersectionality of race, gender and sexuality; and critical interrogation of the spaces we occupy. She regularly teaches African American Literature, Popular Culture, and Graphic Genres as well as Composition I and II.

She has worked regularly with students on individual honors projects, and as faculty mentor for the LGBTQ club.

She has presented scholarship on race and space, popular culture, and the creation of identity through literacy at AERA, PAMLA and CCCC conferences. She has been published in Salon.com, the Kenyon Review, The Conversant, and appeared on NPR’s “On Point, with Tom Ashbrook.” A writer and photographer, her work can be found on www.robinrford.wordpress.com
