Opening - The third meeting of spring 2024 CUNY/Queensborough Community College Committee on Computer Resources was called to order on time on 01:04 PM April 15, 2024.

 

Present

  1. Approve Previous Meeting Minutes

        March 18, 2024 meeting minutes was approved by unanimous vote.

 

  1. Committee Newsletter Update
  • Newsletter is ready to go.
  • Ron reported several small tech issues that he encountered while editing the webpage using Cascade.
  • Links of interests are added to the newsletter page.
  • Links to library resources will be added soon.

 

  1. Technology Fee Committee
  • Ron attended the Technology Fee Committee meeting and reported back to CCR committee. The meeting was mainly about the review of technology fee budget and how it is used. Future meetings will have more detailed information.
  • Anuradha suggests that we should try to get a meeting minute from the Technology Fee Committee. Ron will ask for one later.

 

  1. AI Meeting
  • Jonggu attended the AI meeting held by faculty development and support, and wrote an email report about the meeting.
  • This email will be uploaded to committee shared Google drive folder.
  • Anuradha suggested to run this email by the biology department.
  • This email could be added to the next committee newsletter in the “report back” section.

 

  1. Campus Survey
  • Committee discussed the possibility of doing a survey which can be reported in future newsletters regarding the transition to the D2L system.
  • Committee members agreed that the student survey needs to be short and simple.
  • As for now, a shared file on Google drive will be open for editing. Committee members can build a pool for potential survey questions.
  • Committee members also discussed the possibility of an open-end survey, which lets the students write anything that they want to share with the college.

 

  1. Election for CCR officers
  • No emails have been received regarding the new CCR officer election.
  • Committee has approved the continuance of the current officers.

 

  1. New Student Committee Member
  • Jonggu suggested that we talk to CS students about joining CCR committee. It would be a nice addition to their resumes.
  • Michelle will also find out if any student wants to join the CCR committee next semester from her department.

 

  1. Adjournment
  • Meeting was adjourned at 1:57 PM.
