Course Description in college catalog:
This course is the second half of a first-year course in Italian. Emphasis is on the progressive development of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Students continue to explore Italian culture. Weekly listening, speaking, and viewing activities online or in the language laboratory are part of the course.

Your conversational skills will be assessed by evaluating the clarity, the fluency, and the accuracy of your responses to questions, role plays, simulations, picture descriptions, or story-telling.
Your listening abilities will be assessedby evaluating your general understanding of auditory messages such as commercials, or short dialogues.
Your reading skills will be assessed by evaluating your degree ofcomprehension of variety ofreadingmaterials including ads or newspaper articles.
Your writing skills (including knowledge of grammar) will be assessed by evaluating the grammatical and lexical accuracy and the appropriateness of your writing samples including narrations, descriptions and letter writing.
