In a career spanning over 40 years, artist Dennis Cady has traveled throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Latin America,Natural Resources QCC Art Gallery expressing the beauty of the great outdoors in watercolor and acrylic paintings. Extended journeys have yielded a series of works that combine form, atmosphere and light with color, brushwork, and a sense of place. During the winter months Cady creates woodcuts, monoprints, and linocuts that reflect his paintings. The exhibition, Natural Resources: Dennis Cady Sculptures, Paintings, and Prints will run now through October 22, 2016 at the QCC Art Gallery.

“My photo-collages expand the borders of photography to portray a larger sense of time and space. They are an extension of the Cubist concept of time and space and are like the multiple images of my watercolors, painted on site over a period of time,” said Caddy, whose works have been shown in national and international exhibitions and are included in public, private and corporate collections throughout the U.S. and abroad. “Each one records different views and different aspects of a place to show a bigger picture than what a single image can convey.  They are snapshots, but when put together they form a fuller image of a landscape.”

“Caddy deftly captures nature’s fragility and sensuality in this outstanding show,” said Faustino Quintanilla, Executive Director, QCC Art Gallery. “These works offer viewers a window into a kind of psychedelic experience that leaves a lasting impression on both the mind and spirit.”
