Conducting Research in the Chemistry Department as Part of the Honors Program
By Sharda Jagdeo
I started as a freshman at Queensborough in the fall of 2010. One of my classes that semester was Honors Chemistry I (CH-151) where I gained more than what I expected to achieve. By completing this class, I was allowed the opportunity to conduct chemistry research under the mentorship of my Introductory Organic Chemistry (CH-128) professor Dr. Jun Shin. Chemistry research in an actual lab was a great experience, but being able to go and present at different regional meetings and colleges to present my research was a dream. In May of 2015, I graduated from Hunter College with a B.S. degree in Biochemistry. Nevertheless I will always look back at the days spent in Honors CH-151 and working in the lab. Queensborough will always be one of my favorite places.
