Taking Honors Courses in Biology

This is my fifth semester at Queensborough Community College (QCC). When I arrived in this country I had severe limitations but big dreams which include my eventually obtaining an MD/PhD degree in neurology and/or biochemistry. Thankfully, I was introduced to the Honors Program at QCC, where a student needs the right drive and performance in order to be competitive and educated above the average level. During my third semester at QCC I registered in three honors courses: Calculus I, Biology I and General Chemistry II. This was only my primary immersion in the Honors Program. I had met magnificent, smart, and dedicated students. I finally discovered where the minds of the future concentrate and work. I continued in the Honors Program during the next semesters taking classes in Biotechnology, Biology II and Research Internships. The new classes did not change my perception of the Honors Program- instead they enhanced my eagerness to thrive for academic success at Queensborough. I would recommend any student to take an Honors class. It is an eye-opening experience.
