Don’t Miss the Upcoming Debut of the Traumerei Piano Trio, a FREE Concert at the Queensborough Performing Arts Center (QPAC) on February 22 at 12:30p.m.!
The Traumerei Piano Trio features Dr. Joanne Chang, an acclaimed classical pianist and Associate Professor of Music at Queensborough. Dr. Chang will appear with professional musicians and educators, cellist Jason Dobranski and violinist Hyunju Ji. The program will include the rarely performed Smetana Piano Trio as well as Beethoven Piano Trio no. 4 and Oblivion by Piazzola.
Dr. Chang has performed worldwide on five continents as a recitalist, soloist with orchestras, and in various chamber music ensembles. Dr. Chang has also established herself as an interdisciplinary researcher in music and psychology. She has several publications in scientific peer-reviewed journals such as Psychology of Music and Medical Problems for Performing Artists. Dr. Chang is a multiple grant award winner: three PSC-CUNY Grants, two G. Shuster Fellowships, three Travel Awards from the State of New York and the Diversity Grant. Dr. Chang received her undergraduate degree from Queensland Conservatorium of Griffith University in Australia, her Master's degree from the Manhattan School of Music, and her Doctoral degree from Columbia University.
A Manhattan performance of the concert Traumerei Piano Trio, sponsored by Project 142, will take place on March 18, 2017 at the DiMenna Center (Benzaquen Hall) at 8:00p.m.
