Student Survey Details
From September 28 - October 26, 2021, Queensborough administered the National Assessment of Collegiate Campus Climates (NACCC), a quantitative survey on campus racial climates created by the University of Southern California’s Race and Equity Center. The survey assessed students’ perceptions regarding six content areas:
- mattering and affirmation
- cross-racial engagement
- encounters with racial stress
- racial learning and literacy
- appraisal of institutional commitment
- impact of external environments
Student Survey: The Results
In Fall 2022, the entire Queensborough community was provided three opportunities to attend presentations about the student climate survey results. Each session was dedicated to a different campus population, but all were welcome to attend any session. Below are links to a summary overview of the student climate survey results and a recording of the session explaining those results.

Student Demographics
Our students come from 117 countries and speak 63 different languages. Twenty-four percent were born outside the United States and come from every corner of the globe, including Asia, North and South America, Africa, Europe, and Australia. The top five non-English native languages for all undergraduates are Spanish, Chinese, Bengali, Creole, and Urdu. In Fall 2020, 28 percent of all degree and certificate-seeking students were Latino/e/x, 29 percent were Asian or Pacific Islander, 28 percent were Black/African American, and 13 percent were White.

Staff and Faculty Climate Surveys
The National Assessment of Collegiate Campus Climates (NACCC) is a quantitative survey on campus racial climates created by the University of Southern California’s Race and Equity Center. NACCC surveys were administered to staff November 16 - December 14, 2021, and to faculty November 16 - December 13, 2022. Both surveys assessed perceptions regarding six content areas:
- mattering and affirmation
- encounters with racial stress
- racial learning and literacy
- equity in the workplace
- appraisal of institutional commitment
- impact of external environments
