  • Minimum CUM GPA: 2.75 (or approval by portfolio review)

Notes:

  • Upon transfer, students must declare a major in Design.
  • The Department of Art at Queens College will accept up to 15 credits of QCC studio art courses towards the B.F.A. in Design, if the grade in the courses is at least B-
  • Studio art coursework that goes beyond 15 credits or does not meet the minimum grade for the major will transfer as elective credit.

Additional Notes: All students must successfully complete two (2) writing-intensive classes (designated "WI") at Queensborough Community College to fulfill degree requirements.

  • Students may opt to pursue tracks of study in Animation, Communication Design, Illustration or Interaction Design by selecting five design electives from the recommended list.
  • Students must pass a portfolio review while enrolled in DESN 241 (Design I) to advance in the program.
  • Program standards for satisfactory progress require students to maintain a GPA of 2.75 or better within the major and receive no grade lower than C in any requirements for the major.
