Reseach Opportunities

Undergraduate research is becoming increasingly important in modern science education. Our department provides students with adequate research opportunities that will help students in their further advanced academic pursuit or careers. Recently, Queensborough students have given many conference and research symposia presentations (ACS- New York section, Undergraduate Research Symposium, ACS Middle Atlantic Regional Meeting as well as other national and international conferences) and have even published original research articles in peer-reviewed journals.

All faculty members in our department are active in research and are involved in ongoing research collaborations with several other institutions, including New York University, Queens College, College of Staten Island, St. John’s University, Columbia University, and University of Pennsylvania, as well as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA in Jamaica) and Mount Sinai Hospital. The chemistry department at QCC hosts several modern instruments and state of the art facilities to conduct this research. Students who are interested in doing research may talk to the individual professors about available opportunities.
