BI-150 Organization and Delivery of Health Care (Online Synchronous)

Eligibility: Passing high school average and teacher recommendation


This course is designed to provide a review of government and private health care administration for the general population of the United States. It introduces concepts of epidemiology and demographics, as well as issues of access and ethics, and discusses the roles, responsibilities, training/education and certification requirements, and employment trends for a wide variety of health professionals. This course is a requirement for associate degree programs and certificates.

CRIM-101 Introduction to the American Criminal Justice System (Online Synchronous)

3 credits   

Monday through Thursday 10:10 am – 12:05 pm

Eligibility: Minimum score of 75+ on ELA Regents, or SAT Critical Reading score of 480 or higher or GPA of 80+ after 4 semesters of English, if the Regents have not yet been taken


The course provides an overview of the foundations and components of the criminal justice system, such as criminal law, police, courts and corrections. The main emphasis will be placed on the criminal justice process and how the various institutions of criminal justice interact. Key issues include: conflict between crime control and due process, conflicts related to, e.g., gender.

EN-101 English Composition (In Person)

3 credits

Eligibility: Minimum score 75+ ELA Regents or SAT Critical Reading score of 480 or higher or GPA of 80+ after four semesters of English, if the Regents have not yet been taken


Process for producing intelligent essays that are clearly and effectively written; library work; 6,000 words of writing, both formal themes written for evaluation and informal writing such as the keeping of a journal. During the recitation hour, students review grammar and syntax, sentence structure, paragraph development, and the formulation of thesis statements.

PHIL-130: Theories of The Good Life (Online Synchronous)

3 credits   

Monday through Thursday 10:10 am – 12:05 pm

Eligibility: Minimum 75+ ELA Regents or SAT Critical Reading score of 480 or higher
or GPA of 80+ in 4 semesters of English, if the Regents have not yet been taken


Basic concepts and problems of ethics. Nature of values, virtue, moral judgment, and obligation considered and illustrated through writings of the major philosophers of the Western tradition, including Plato, Aristotle, Augustine, Spinoza, Kant, Moore, and Stevenson.

PLSC-101 American Government and Politics (Online Synchronous)

3 credits   

Monday through Thursday 10:10 am – 12:05 pm

80+ in 4 semesters of English, if the Regents have not yet been taken


This course is a study & analysis of American government; its historical, intellectual origins and development; special consideration of its structure; functions of President, Congress, and Judiciary.

PH-111 and PH-112 Space, Astronomy and Our Universe plus Lab (In Person)

Eligibility: Passing high school average and permission of the Department


This course discusses topics related to space and astronomy, beginning with our planet and our moon and extending to stars, galaxies, and the universe as a whole. This course will explore physical processes and the laws that govern the motion and evolution of all objects in the universe, including stars, planets and galaxies. Laboratory exercises will also be conducted on these topics.

Summer Robotics Program

June 30, 2025 – August 4, 2025

 

ET-375 Introduction to Robotics (In Person)

4 credits

Mondays through Thursdays, 10:00am – 3:00pm

Eligibility: Permission of the Department (and students must be rising juniors or seniors)


Topics included are electronic components, analog and digital signals, CPU, microcontroller, I/O ports, continuous rotation and servo motors, light sensors, ultrasonic sensors, IR sensors, encoders, robot controllers, structure and motion of a robot, power, and programming of robots.

Rising juniors and seniors should first fill out the online application.

Students who currently have an EMPLID (CUNY ID #) or have already submitted an application for a previous semester do not need to complete the online application again.

Include your full name, high school, grade and OSIS number (or EMPLID if you have one), and telephone number.
