What will happen after you sign up?

You will receive an email from one of our Career and Technical Education specialists who will ask to set up
a meeting with you. At that meeting you will have a discussion about your needs and goals, and your
specialist will create a personalized success plan. You will have the ability to make as many meetings with
this specialist as you need going forward.

You will also receive regular updates and announcements from R.I.S.E. regarding opportunities, skills workshops, scholarships, and other opportunities to optimize your success.

 

RISE Program Privacy Policy 

This Privacy Policy describes the privacy practices of RISE Program, this Privacy Policy describes your rights and choices with respect to the Personal Information we collect.

Personal Information We Collect

Personal information you provide to us includes:

  • Personal and Business contact information, such as your first and last name, email and mailing addresses, phone number, professional title and company name.
  • Registration information, such as information that may be related to a service or an event you register for.
  • Feedback or correspondence, such as information you provide when you contact us with questions, feedback, or otherwise correspond with us online.
  • Marketing information, such as your preferences for receiving communications about our activities, events, and publications, and details about how you engage with our communications.
  • Other information that we may collect which is not specifically listed here, but which we will use in accordance with this Privacy Policy or as otherwise disclosed at the time of collection.

Marketing and advertising. We respect your privacy and do not tolerate spam and will never sell, rent, lease or give away your information (name, address, email, mobile #, etc.) to any third party.

To operate the services provided by the RISE Program.

  • provide, operate and improve services provided by the RISE Program.
  • provide information about our services, events and opportunities (offered by RISE, QCC or Community Partners).
  • establish and maintain your user profile with the RISE Program.
  • communicate by sending you announcements, updates, alerts, and support and administrative messages.
  • communicate with you about events in which you are eligible to or participate in.
  • understand your needs and interests and personalize your experience with the RISE Program and our communications.
  • respond to your requests, questions and feedback.

For research and development. We analyze the use of the service to analyze and improve the services and to develop new services, including by studying user demographics and use of the Service.

To create anonymous, aggregated or de-identified data. We may create anonymous, aggregated or de-identified data from your personal information and other individuals whose personal information we collect. We make personal information into anonymous, aggregated or de-identified data by removing information that makes the data personally identifiable to you. We may use this anonymous, aggregated or de-identified data and share it with NYSED and QCC for our lawful purposes, including analyzing and improving the RISE Program.

How We Share Your Personal Information

We do not share your personal information with any third party.

Your Choices

In this section, we describe the rights and choices available to all users. 

Opt-out of text message communications. You may opt-out of text messaging at any time by replying to any message with STOP or contacting us at [email protected]. This will end the communications from that particular phone number. You may continue to receive RISE Program-related and other non-marketing text messages from other phone numbers managed by the RISE Program, and you may opt out of those in a similar fashion.

Opt-out of marketing communications. You may opt-out of marketing-related emails by following the opt-out or unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of the email, or by contacting us at [email protected]. You may continue to receive service-related and other non-marketing emails.

Security Practices

The security of your personal information is important to us. We employ a number of organizational, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information we collect. However, security risk is inherent in all internet and information technologies, and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information. Email, in particular, is an insecure way to transmit personal information. Please take special care regarding what information you send to us via email or text message.

Children

The Service is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us. We will delete such information from our files as soon as reasonably practicable. We encourage parents with concerns to contact us.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Any modifications to this Privacy Policy will be effective upon our posting the new terms and/or upon implementation of the new changes (or as otherwise indicated at the time of posting). RISE Program Terms of Use

  1. Road to Interdependence and Student Excellence (R.I.S.E.) is a community of Career and Technical Education specialists at Queensborough Community College who provide unlimited one-on-one meetings for prospective students, current students and alumni to create a career plan. As a R.I.S.E. student you will prepare for a meaningful future through personalized planning to guide your academic and career journey. The RISE program will use this SMS service to engage with students about RISE-hosted campus events, including employer visits and soft skill-building workshops, as well as facilitating discussions with students regarding appointment scheduling, career opportunities, and general case management follow-ups.
  2. You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text "STOP" to the short code. After you send the SMS message "STOP" to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us.
