Business:

The meeting was called to order at 1:10PM

  1. Attendance
  2. Review Committee Meeting Minutes March 12th, 2024 and informational notes April 9th approved without corrections
  3. Welcomed new committee members (all invited, but absent)
  4. Thanked outgoing committee members Klein, Boyadzhiev, Byfield
  5. Elections for committee Chair(s) and Secretary
Akpinar, Karlin, and Kolack were nominated to stay in their current positions, and there was no vote as the election was uncontested.
  6. Student/faculty survey on student evaluation forms update
Were sent out May 1st. Open through the 14th, coinciding with the student evaluation period (video, emails, texts sent by marketing). 100 students took survey so far, per Adam Volin.
  7. Old business
There was some discussion about how a student can provide feedback on a professor who opts out of evaluations. There was some discussion in the past about limiting it to only full Professors, but a Senate vote was never taken. Students should be told to provide feedback to dept. chairs, though it would not be anonymous.
Good semester in terms of cosponsoring workshops with CETL, but didn’t get to a Brightspace introduction (working with eLearning), and Denis was unable to work with us as he’s delivering his own.
  8. New business
Annual report will be submitted to the Steering Committee, with results of the surveys to be listed as TBA if final results are not processed in time.
First fall meeting will be as voted on (second Tuesday at noon), will be hybrid, and we’ll see if a better day needs to be scheduled.
Next meeting Sept 10th, hybrid
Meeting adjourned 1:40PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Kevin Kolack
Committee on Academic Development/Elective Academic Programs, Secretary
