Meeting minutes for March 04, 2020 were aproved.

Discussion of “Let’s Get Writing” Workshop:

  • The Workshop will be conducted on an online platform (possibly Zoom) on April 29th from 12pm to 2pm.

  • The Committee will investigate ways to replicate “breakout” sessions in this virtual setting.

  • It was suggested to create some type of “program” of the workshop to break down the approximate time for each speaker. That way, attendees can be sure to sign in for the portion of the workshop that most pertains to them.

Discussion of the Faculty Survey on Student Evaluations:

  • The Committee discussed the best time to distribute the survey—responses ranged from early May, to after Spring 2020 grades are submitted, to the beginning of the fall semester.

  • We decided to include questions that ask faculty about their experience this semester with the transition to distance learning. We also decided another topic for the survey would be what type of workshops about online learning would interest faculty. Committee members were asked to submit questions to Dr. Pham regarding this topic.

Respectfully submitted,

Ilse Schrynemakers
Committee on Academic Development/Elective Academic Programs, Secretary
