The Academic Senate Committee on Academic Development/Elective Academic Programs met on December 10, 2020 at 12:30 pmVirtual -Zoom


Committee Members in Attendance:

Rezan Akpinar (Chair), Renee Rhodd (Co-Chair), Crystal Moscat (Secretary), Joanne Chang, Susan Riekert, David Pham, Melissa Dennihy, Mark Ulrich, Rex Taibu, Dr. Michael Pullin

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 12:30 pm

 

  1. Review and approve Committee Meeting Minutes from 11/25/20

The Committee on Academic Development shall:

  1. Evaluation forms:
  • Form should be available to students from November 30th-December 13th.
  • Students should receive a brief description explaining the “not applicable” option.
  • Department chairs will let faculty know about survey.
  • ADC committee to come up with questions for survey.
  • Recruit E-Learning committee to help with survey and changing the form to send to faculty senate for approval.
  • Would like to change survey before spring 2021.
  • ADC should prepare 2 surveys; 1 for faculty and 1 for students to get as much feedback.
  • Akpinar will try to access survey results for Fall 2020.
  1. Discuss our next event/workshop. Possible topic for next workshop: Helpful ideas for E-Learning/Teaching.
  • Invite professors to present on how they conducted online courses and discuss online tactics to keep students engaged.
  • Invite CETL to co-sponsor event.
  • Possibly have workshop recorded to put on QCC website. Must be ADA compliant videos.
  1. Transfer resource center requested for liaisons from different departments to work with us.
  2. ADC to co-sponsor presentation on TREX on February 16th. Open to faculty & staff.
