The meeting was called to order at 1:00 pm
- The Committee approved the Committee Meeting Minutes from November 27th, 2019
- Review of the letter to the chairs for the Spring 2020 workshop
Together, the Committee welcomed Dr. Wang to our meeting, and she expressed approval of the workshop for faculty to learn about writing/applying for grants.
The Committee edited the letter to email to department chairs in order to solicit nominations for the workshop panel. Some committee members wished to add to the email an incentive for participation—perhaps a certificate stating the participant’s service to the college. The Committee also approved making the wording in the email more general—to appeal to all faculty, regardless of rank, across the disciplines.
- Review of the Committee name—Name change is suggested
The Committee discussed the repetition of the word “Academic” in the title of the Committee and agreed to revisit possible different names for the Committee at a later date. There was also discussion about creating a logo for the Committee but that initiative would be discussed in the new year.
- Review of the Faculty Survey
The Committee discussed how to ask faculty about the PNET courses and the preferred method for distribution of the student evaluations of the courses. The Committee decided to add a survey question about the PNET courses to the faculty survey to be emailed late Spring. One suggestion was to create an “if/then” question—where if faculty are teaching PNETs, then only those faculty will be asked to respond to questions about PNET courses.
Meeting adjourned : 1:00pm
Respectfully submitted,
Ilse Scherynemakers
