The Academic Senate Committee on Academic Development/Elective Academic Programs met on December 2nd, 2015, at 11:00 am in S-420
Committee Members in Attendance:

The meeting was called to order at 11:00 am
1. Minutes of Nov. 11, 2015, approved.
2. Chairperson Tirandai Hemraj-Benny met with Kathleen Landy from CETL, and it was proposed that the committee would sponsor a faculty workshop for the 2015 Spring semester.
3. The committee decided that it would propose three possible workshops (see below), and design a survey form for faculty to rate these workshops in the order of their preference. Space would be provided for faculty members to propose alternative workshops of interest.
Proposed Workshops:
1. Structuring Feedback to Improve Student Writing
2. Techniques for Preventing and Detecting Plagiarism
3. The Rights and Limitations of Academic Freedom
4. The committee decided that an electronic survey would be sent to the entire QCC faculty (including adjuncts) to ask for their input. In addition, committee members would send emails to requesting that members of their own departments complete the survey.
5. Discussion about determining a fixed meeting date for the committee for next semester was tabled until the next meeting.
6. The date for the next committee meeting will be determined based on the availability of committee members.
7. Meeting adjourned at 12:00 pm.
