The Academic Senate Committee on Academic Development/Elective Academic Programs met on March 04, 2020 at 1:00 pm in RFK-202


Committee Members in Attendance:

Rezan Akpinar (Chairperson); David Pham (Faculty); Susan Riekert (Faculty); Joanne Cheng (Faculty); Renee Rhodd (HEO, Co-Chair); Rex Taibu (Faculty); and Crystal Moscat (HeoA)Suzan Rickett(Faculty), : Ilse Schrynemakers ( Secretary)

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 1:00 pm

  1. Committee approved Committee Meeting Minutes for February 4th, 2020.

 

  1. Discussion on the upcoming Workshop:
    1. Time changes for the workshop was done. Lets Talk About Writing : Workshop on Grant Writing and Scholarly Publications is scheduled to take place on March 12, 2020 in Oakland Dining Room between 1:00 to 4:00. Save the date flyer for the event has been send to faculty and staff. .
    2. Committee worked on the schedule of the presenters. Ten presenters were scheduled according to their time preferences.
    3. Schedule will be emailed to the presenters for approval. .
    4. Finalized flyer with schedule of the day with presenters will be send to staff and faculty.

  1. Accessibility committee is working on flash sessions in educating departments on services available for students with special needs. R. Akpinar attended Accessibility Committee meeting, she will be doing some of the flash sessions for the committee. ADC committee will be working with Accessibility Committee on preparing a workshop for the faculty.

 

  1. Stations for the workshop was established. Dr. Pham, Prof. Rex, Prof. Schrynemakers will come in early to help on the day of the event.
