The Academic Senate Committee on Academic Development/Elective Academic Programs met on November 27, 2019 at 1:00 pm in RFK-216

The meeting was called to order at 1:00 pm
- Spring 2020 survey for future faculty workshops: A draft was shared for the spring 2020 survey for future faculty workshops. Committees members agreed to change survey question #2 to include subtitles that group similarly themed workshop ideas together. Survey will be emailed campus-wide in March 2020. Ilse Schrynemakers was added to the survey sub-committee.
- Committee-sponsored spring 2020 faculty workshop: Committee members agreed to create a two-hour publication/grant writing workshop to be offered in late February 2020 or close to the date/time of the Committee’s successful, spring 2019 workshop.
The workshop’s first hour will be a general discussion by all the panelists on general problems with the publishing/grant application process; the second hour (a breakout session) will focus on discipline-specific questions. Perhaps food will be served or this is will a brown-bog workshop.
Rezan will contact department chairs in order to recruit faculty panelists for the workshops and plans to meet with Dr. Wang and Moira Adams about the purpose and scope of the workshop.
- Changes in the Sub-Committee of Accessibility were discussed. Revised charges are still in line with our charges making collaboration possible between two committees.
- To address the promotion of events by the committee, Rezan will reach out to the Marketing Department to develop a logo for the ADC committee.
