The Academic Senate Committee on Academic Development/Elective Academic Programs met on September 20, 2017 at 12:00 pm in L-314


Committee Members in Attendance:

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 12:00 pm

1. All members introduced themselves.

2. The submitted annual report for 2016-2017 was discussed. In addition, the committee members discussed each suggested 2016-2017 specific charge from the Steering Committee. During this discussion, a few collaborative ideas across disciplines were addressed. Rezan Akpinar, Anuradha Srivastava, Manachanallur Ravi, Ilse Schrynemakers, Jodi Van Der Horn-Gibson, and Kathleen Landy will continue to discuss these pedagogical collaborations.

3. During the Spring 2017 semester, the Academic Development Committee requested all faculty to complete a survey to evaluate their satisfaction level of the current Student Evaluation of Faculty Form. This survey was endorsed by the Academic Senate Steering Committee. 137 faculty completed the survey in Spring 2017.

 It was agreed that all committee members would analyze the results obtained from this survey during the next committee’s meeting. Dean Landy, CETL, offered to distribute hard copies of the survey’s results to the committee members.

4. It was agreed that the committee would hold monthly meetings on Wednesdays at 2:00 pm.

5. Next meeting will be on Wednesday, October, 4th at 2:00 pm in M-123.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:30 pm.
