General Discussion

  • Topic: amending committee charges to include the promotion of and course/pedagogical projects with departmental cultural events.
  • Results: members agreed to postpone the discussion and any decisions until next meeting or for the following academic year.

Brochure project

  • The committee discussed possible inclusion of departmental cultural events. Members agreed to include only the centers’ programming for now.
  • CETL advertisement to be included in the brochure in order to help faculty who are working on course-program alignment
  • Representatives from the Marketing Department (Tony Gamino and James Geasor) joined the meeting at 1:15 and offered their perspectives on the brochure project.
  • Because of the lead time involved in printing the brochures, the committee members agreed to:
    • highlight several (rather than all) events offered by each cultural center
    • make pedagogy the primary focus of the brochure.

The possibility of an online brochure was suggested by VP Zins.

Topics for the next meeting:

  • Changes to the brochure (offering pedagogical examples)
  • Discussion of campus signage
  • Social Media marketing/teaching resources

Respectfully submitted,
