Attendance: Dean Hui-Yin Hsu, Jannette Urciuoli, Jun Shin, Elaine Freidman, Alison Cimino
- DOL SCC Grant:
- Credit for Prior Learning (faculty governance/senate approval)
- Focus on non-credit to credit alignment
- Focus on the micro-software engineering credential
- QCC is one of the community colleges selected to participate in the grant.
- Micro-credentials allow for stackable credentials moving forward once faculty become familiar with it.
- $10, 000 stipend to track data and see how many students are enrolled in the course and how many want to receive credits for prior learning.
- We have 5 training programs to offer in the Spring, but we still need approval by the Faculty Senate and faculty support proceed confidently.
- Career Pathway Program, Credit for Prior Learning Courses: Cybersecurity (AWS Solutions Architect). Students who complete the Cybersecurity Career Pathway can go on to AAS in Internet or Information Technology.
- Sixteen workforce development program offerings
- CEANY (Continuing Education Association of New York)
- Professor Michael Lawrence, in Engineering Technology, a QCC faculty, was recognized and received the CEANY award.
- Anuradha Srivastava (from our committee) was involved in the Community Health Committee to train and help vaccinating staff receive jobs.
- Credit for Prior Learning (faculty governance/senate approval)
- QCC DOL SCC Grant website & CUNY Central website
- Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grant
- Shared on the CUNY website
- Other community colleges are participating as well.
- This is a grant funded program to help New Yorkers, including our students, to take the program. It is fully funded.
- Asian American Federation would also like to collaborate to include immigrant students. They are also interested in the pathways to further education and jobs.

- QCC CEWD/CUNY Consortium received Noncredit and Credit Alignment Lab Award (focusing Software Engineering & Education)

- Community Health Worker Train & Earn Program completed 65 vaccine workers

- Jannette Urciuoli, of the Steering Committee of the Academic Senate, recommends the following
- Present our work to the Academic Senate: Choose 1-2 people to share what we are doing on our committee. Next semester this meeting will be Tuesday, February 8, 3 PM (Contact the committee two weeks prior to the meeting.)
- Share update reports with the Academic Senate
- Continue to update our website
- Ask a committee member to review the bylaws and our annual report goals and share these with the committee.
- Consider using a file sharing and communication system such as Microsoft Teams to share and communicate as a committee.
- The committee will invite Phil Pecorino, Chair of the Pre-College Committee, to share Pre-College Committee activities.
- Approval of Minutes: We will revisit the minutes from 9/29/21 at our next meeting for approval.
