The Committee on Environment, Quality of Life and Disability Issues dedicates its efforts to addressing matters related to these essential areas:
|
Rationale: The changes made to the committee charges include clarification of the Committee's responsibilities of addressing key areas of concern within the college environment and broadening the responsibilities by revising the language on accessibility. There are two key modifications:
- Responsibility clarity: The new version of the charter ensures that committee members can effectively contribute within their areas of knowledge while still addressing essential college environment concerns. The new version also considers the possibility that the college may not consistently produce a College Master Plan, reflecting a more adaptable approach to its responsibilities.
- Improved accessibility and inclusivity language: The updated draft includes the term "accessibility issues" alongside "disability issues," indicating a broader commitment to ensuring the campus environment is accessible to all, not just students with disabilities. This change reflects a commitment to inclusivity and diversity.
