Committee on Environment, Quality of Life, and Accessibility

Rationale: The updated committee name will reflect and align better with the language already in place in the Accessibility Office and will convey a more inclusive and comprehensive focus. “Accessibility” is a term that encompasses a broader spectrum of considerations beyond disabilities alone, addressing not only physical disabilities but also cognitive, sensory, technological, and environmental barriers.
The committee name was modified by omitting the term ‘issue’ as none of the explored alternatives—matters, services, initiatives, affairs, etc. -- were deemed sufficiently broad or carried the positive connotations necessary for the committee’s objectives.
