The Academic Senate Committee on Curriculum met on March 31, 2020 at 2:00 pm online via Blackboard Collaborate

Business:
The meeting was called to order at 2:00 PM
- The minutes of the February 25, 2020 meeting were approved by the committee.
- The committee discussed the new courses CS-102: “Spreadsheet Programming with MS Excel” and CS-103: “Relational Databases with SQL”, previously submitted by the Mathematics and Computer Science Department. The committee will consider these courses again at the next meeting.
- The committee considered the following course revisions from the Art and Design Department:
ARTS-191 Introduction to Video Art
ARTS-192 Web Animation
ARTS-290 Advertising Design and Layout
ARTS-291 Electronic Imaging
ARTS-292 Design for Desktop Publishing
ARTS-293 Design for Motion Graphics
After discussing the proposals, the committee voted and the proposals were approved unanimously by those present.
- The committee discussed revisions for the S. in Digital Art & Design program. After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present.
- The committee considered the course revision of HE-200: “Emergency Medical Technician” from the Health, Physical Education, and Dance Department. After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present.
- The committee considered the following new courses from the Speech Communication and Theatre Arts Department:
TH-153 Voice and Speech for the Actor
TH-154 Movement for the Actor
After discussing the proposals, the committee voted and the proposals were approved unanimously by those present.
- The committee discussed revisions for the S. in Theatre (Concentrations: Acting, Technical Theatre) program. After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present.
- The committee considered the following course deletions from the Speech Communication and Theatre Arts Department:
TH-133 Theatre Production and Design I
TH-151 Vocal Production and Movement for the Actor
TH-152 Standard Speech for Stage, Film, Television and Digital Media
TH-233 Theatre Production and Design II
After discussing the proposals, the committee voted and the proposals were approved unanimously by those present.
- The committee considered the following course revisions from the Nursing Department:
NU-101 Safe and Effective Nursing Care Level I
NU-102 Safe and Effective Nursing Care Level II
NU-201 Safe and Effective Nursing Care Level III
NU-202 Safe and Effective Nursing Care Level IV
After discussing the proposals, the committee voted and the proposals were approved unanimously by those present.
- The committee discussed revisions for the A.S. in Nursing program. After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present.

- The committee considered the course revision of BI-170: “Plants and People” from the Biological Sciences and Geology Department. After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present.
- The committee considered the following courses (remedial prerequisite revisions only):
PH-105 Introduction to Space Science I: Stars and Normal Galaxies
PH-106 Introduction to Space Science II: The Universe Including Strange Galaxies

After discussing the proposals, the committee voted and the proposals were approved by those present.
- The committee considered the course revision ENGL-101: “English Composition I” from the English Department. After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present.
