The Academic Senate Committee on CURRICULUM COMMITTEE met on September 4, 2018 at 2:10 pm in H-230


Committee Members in Attendance:

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 2:10 PM

  1. The minutes of the May 15, 2018 meeting were approved by the committee. 
  1. The committee welcomed Michael Pullin, the new Assistant Dean for Academics. 
  1. The committee discussed the modification of Form 4 to remove text from Box 14 concerning the attendance policy. After the discussion, the committee decided to table the matter for now. 
  1. Kim Riegel, of the Physics Department, discussed the proposal for the new course revision of PH-450: Introduction to Physics Research. 
  1. The committee considered the proposed course revision PH-450: “Introduction to Physics Research.” After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present. 
  1. Belle Birchfield, of the Engineering Technology Department, discussed the proposals for her department, including ET-574 and other ET and ARCH courses. 
  1. The committee considered the proposed course revision ET-574: “Programming and Applications with Python.” After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present. 
  1. The committee reviewed the letter to be sent to the chairs at the beginning of the semester detailing procedures for submitting proposals. 

The meeting was adjourned at 4:00 PM.
