The Academic Senate Committee on Curriculum met on September 15, 2020 at 2:00 pm online via Blackboard Collaborate

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 2:00 PM

  1. The minutes of the May 19, 2020 meeting were approved by the committee.

  2. The committee considered the new course ENGL-90: “Integrated Reading and Writing for Advanced ESL” from the English Department. After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present.

  3. The committee discussed the new courses CS-102: “Spreadsheet Programming with MS Excel” and CS-103: “Relational Databases with SQL”, previously submitted by the Mathematics and Computer Science Department and approved by the committee May 5, 2020. The Academic Senate vote was postponed until November 2020. Philip Pecorino will serve as moderator/facilitator of the matter with representatives of the Mathematics & Computer Science Department and Business Department.

  4. The committee discussed the Annual Letter to Chairs, which was sent August 31, 2020.

  5. The committee discussed the Academic Master Plan.
