The meeting was called to order at 12:00 p,m.

1. Meeting commenced at 12:00pm in Room A-104.

2. Welcome to our new student representative, Krupa Patel.

3. Minutes from meeting on 10/10/2018 were approved.

4. Discussion of FY18 and FY19 Sales Summary reports.

5. Continued discussion of concerns raised by Clara Wajngurt:

            a) Issue about campus vendors not accepting credit cards:

  • Vendors cannot accept credit cards due to limited Wi-Fi connectivity via hotspot
  • Faculty can add funds to their CUNY cards online or at TigerCard vending machines located on campus in the administration building, library, and student union
  • More information is available at TigerCard website
  • Faculty and students can add funds to their cards using this link: Add Funds to your TigerCard
  • The committee will explore best ways to disseminate this information to faculty (campus-wide email; link/banner on QCC homepage; announcement at all-faculty meeting; etc)

b) We will invite Clara Wajngurt to our next meeting to discuss this and other issues further

6. Report from student representative:

            a) Krupa mentions that for students taking evening classes, cafeterias are closed and the only options for purchasing food/drink are vending machines. Students have complained that the prices of vending machines are quite high.

            b) This concern echoes previous concerns raised by faculty and shared by Clara Wajngurt about campus cafeterias closing early during the summer, leaving faculty and students with lack of food options after 2pm.

            c) Committee discussed that perhaps at least one cafeteria should have evening/extended hours for students and faculty who are taking/teaching courses in the evening and/or over the summer.

7. Next meeting will be determined by Doodle Poll in January.

Respectfully submitted,

Melissa Denninhy
Committee on Committee on Vendor Services, Secretary
