The meeting was called to order at approximately 3:05 pm.

The committee welcomed the invited guests and informed them of their observations of issues with the online Faculty Handbook (e.g., three times the reader is being linked to HIP; some information is outdated). Martha informed the committee that they are working on the handbook; she also explained that the reason some of the links are broken is due changes in the CUNY website. The committee inquired about the status of the other handbooks (i.e., handbooks for adjuncts, HEO-s, substitutes and CLT-s). Liza informed us that the adjunct guidelines will be updated and uploaded soon.

The committee further discussed the faculty surveys. It was agreed that Kerry-Ann will send us the updated version of the survey to be voted on sometime in January.

The minutes from the previous meeting were approved.

The committee agreed that the committee meeting times during the Spring, 2020 semester will happen every second Wednesday of the month from 4 to 5 pm (meeting dates: February 19th, March 11th, April 1st, May 13th).  During the Fall, 2020 semester the meeting time will be moved to 3-4 pm time period.

Kwang and Aviva reported on the subcommittee meeting (Subcommittee of Webmasters) that had taken place right before the Publications Committee meeting (between 2-3 pm). The subcommittee decided first to focus their work on the sidebar menu of the college website. The subcommittee will investigate other community college websites. The subcommittee met with Linda Evangelou (Assistant Dean of Admission) and discussed the changes needed to make QCC website more attractive to prospective students.

Meeting adjourned at approximately 3:57 pm.

Respectfully submitted,

Vazgen Shekoyan
Committee on Publications, Secretary
