Minutes

The Academic Senate Committee on Publications met on Thursday, February 11, 2021, 03:00 PM-3:57 PM, via Zoom


Committee Members in Attendance:

Kerri-Ann M. Smith (Chair), Vazgen Shekoyan (Secretary), Patrick Byers, James Geasor, Kwang Hyun Kim, Christina Manzo


Liaisons in Attendance:

VP Stephen DiDio (President’s Liaison)


Business:

The meeting was called to order at 03:02 PM

Firstly, the committee discussed the charged of the sub-committee of Webmasters. The chair shared with the committee the main decisions of the sub-committee. The sub-committee chair believed that the current charged are too ambitious and won’t work. After consultation with David Moretti, the decision was made that the sub-committee will create a guide for faculty on using  content management and creating personal pages in the departmental  website. Kim suggested the guide to be in a form a video tutorial rather than a written document.

 

Secondly, Faculty Handbook revisions were discussed. It was decided that the committee will meet Lisa Larios to find out the legal limitations on what can be modified or added into the handbook. Due to schedule conflicts Kerri-Ann suggested to arrange a separate meeting. Patrick and Christina volunteered to take part in the meeting. Vazgen suggested to inform the other committee members of the meeting time so that they can take part as well if their schedules allow it.

 

The minutes of the previous meeting were approved.

 

Meeting adjourned at approximately 03:22 pm.
