The Academic Senate Committee on Student Activities met on April 10, 2019 at 4 pm in L413
Committee Members in Attendance:

- Ronald Chan (President SGA)
Absent:

Business:
The meeting was called to order at 4:06
- Approval of the minutes of the April 10, 2019 by voice vote.
- Approval of the agenda for May 8, 2019 by voice vote.
Old Business:
1. Report from Student Government: Ronald Chan (President of SGA)
- Discussed the QCC App.
- Had a good discussion about how we can help SGA
2. Review of Student Survey Data-presented by Victor Fichera:
- Mr. Fichera shared results from the fall 2016 and spring 2017.
- There were 465 responses to the survey.
- We would like to use this survey to determine student awareness and involvement.
- Survey results were widely represented in particular areas of interest.
- About 2/3 of student population does not know about student activities programming.
- It was discussed that many things have changed since 2016/2017.
- Marketing has been improved and students are more aware of activities.
- Discuss adding an 8th question to the survey about QCC App.
3. Steering Committee-Bylaws for Committee:
- Report to Academic Senate about Policies.
- Assist the Director as needed.
- Act as an advisory group to club that needs.
- List all publications on website
4. Report from Dean Pullin:
- Academic Academies can help Market events on campus.
- Each Academy does 6-8 events per semester, looking for them to have 3 big events instead.
- Academy event planning is still in discussion stage.
- Possibly Student Activities Committee can collaborate with Student Government and Academic Academies
5. Student Activities update: None
