The Academic Senate approved the following changes to policy in academic year 2019-2020:

Revised Religious Observance Policy

Faculty Access to College e-Mail Lists (6 month trial)

The following changes to Standing Committees of the Academic Senate were undertaken:

The Committee on Pre-college, Continuing Education and Workforce Development was divided into two committees: Committee on Pre-college, and Committee on Continuing Education and Workforce Development

An update was made to e-Learning guidelines

Dr. Stephen Hammel’s term on Committee on Committees was extended by one year, to serve out the term of a resigned member, and to continue as chair during the COVID crisis

Assessment of Senate Standing Committee effectiveness, slated for this academic year, was postponed to AY 2020-2021 due to COVID

The Anti-Bullying Special Committee will continue its charge into AY 2020-2021

Steering Committee undertook the following actions:

Steering Committee presented the Request for Reassigned time to President Lynch, which he approved. The request for 24 hours was the same as the request for 2018-2019

Steering Committee thanked in academic year 2019-2020 Interim College President Dr. Timothy Lynch for meritorious service to QCC during Middle States assessment and during the COVID crisis

Steering Committee offers a warm welcome and congratulations to Dr. Christine Mangino, sixth president of Queensborough Community College
