Actions taken by the Academic Senate may be seen here.

The following extra-charge actions by Standing Committees of the Academic Senate were undertaken:

  • Library Committee formed a Subcommittee on OER
  • Publications Committee posted clarifications to the Faculty Handbook and Tenure and Promotion Guidelines
  • Assessment Committee provided to the Senate recommendations regarding COACHE Survey results
  • EQLD Committee amended their Bylaws Charges

 

Steering Committee undertook the following actions:

  • Steering Committee presented the Request for Reassigned time to President Mangino, which she approved. The request for 24 hours was the same as the request for 2023-2024
  • Managed onboarding of Senate Technology Officer Mark Chropufka
  • Managed Committee on Committee’s issues with lateness/errors in Committee Selection process
  • Conducted trainings with committee officers on online Information Management System (Cascade)
  • Oversaw efforts to return Senate and Standing Committee business to an in-person quorum
  • Served on the Dean of Faculty search committee
  • Oversaw Assessment Committee’s report on COACHE survey results
  • Oversaw Library Committee’s formation of Subcommittee on OER
  • Chaired Special Committee on AI and presented recommendations to the Senate
  • Worked with Pre-College Committee toward standardization of data gathering and presentation among QCC Pre-College programs

Steering Committee acknowledges the outstanding work of Senate Standing Committee chairs and secretaries in 2023-2024.

Steering Committee thanks Scott Litroff for stepping into the role of Chair, and for a commitment to excellence in 2023-2024.

Steering Committee gratefully acknowledges the excellent work and attitude of new Secretary Phil Nelan.

Steering Committee thanks Rezan Akpinar for stepping up to serve another year as Parliamentarian. 

Steering Committee thanks Mark Chropufka for excellent work as Senate Technology Officer

Steering Committee thanks Daniel Garbin for stepping into the role of Steering Committee Vice Chair.

The QCC Art Gallery of the City University of New York is a vital educational and cultural resource for Queensborough Community College, the Borough of Queens and the surrounding communities.
