The Faculty Executive Committee is an integral part of the governance of our College and committed to supporting the rights of the faculty. The Faculty of Queensborough Community College exercise the functions as defined by the Bylaws of the Board of Trustees of the City University of New York and all other functions customary and proper for a college faculty. The Faculty shall be responsible for the academic status, role, rights, obligations, and freedoms of the Faculty, and such other matters that may affect the welfare of the Faculty. The FEC acts as the principal agency of the Faculty in carrying out its Bylaw responsibilities. The Faculty through its FEC shall have access to all relevant information as it deems necessary for the fulfillment of its responsibilities. Any requests for clarifications of meaning and interpretations of the Faculty Bylaws are to be directed to the FEC who are the interpreters of its meaning at the College.It is important to note that the Faculty through its FEC may address communications to the Board of Trustees.
The FEC holds a General Faculty Meeting once each semester that promotes awareness of current issues facing faculty. The FEC also supports faculty development. In conjunction with the Office of Academic Affairs, the FEC occasionally sponsors an annual Conference of the College showcasing the work of faculty involved in pedagogical initiatives. These meetings provide a venue for discussion and collaboration. We welcome your participation. The Faculty of Queensborough Community has the power to reverse the actions of the Academic Senate pursuant to the Governance Plan.
The QCC Faculty Bylaws have these provisions which charge the Faculty Executive Committee with responsibilities:
2.2 The Faculty Executive Committee of Queensborough Community College shall be the principal agency of the Faculty in carrying out its Bylaw responsibilities. Any requests for clarifications of meaning and interpretations are to be directed to the Faculty Executive Committee who are the interpreters of its meaning at the College.
6.1 The Faculty shall be responsible for the academic status, role, rights, obligations, and freedoms of the Faculty, and such other matters that may affect the welfare of the Faculty consistent with this document. The Faculty through its Faculty Executive Committee may address communications to the Board of Trustees.
6.5 The Faculty through its Faculty Executive Committee shall have access to all relevant information as it deems necessary for the fulfillment of its responsibilities.
The Faculty Executive Committee sees to the election of faculty to the Academic Review Committee and the Academic Freedom Committee and to their proper functioning.
The Faculty Executive Committee sees to the election of QCC faculty to the CUNY University Faculty Senate: Fulltime members, Part-time or adjunct members, and alternates.
The Faculty Executive Committee sees to the election of QCC faculty to the Student-Faculty Disciplinary Committee.
The Faculty Executive Committee sees to the election of faculty to a panel from which the President selects faculty to serve on the Governing Board QCC Student Activities Association and the Governing Board QCC Auxiliary Enterprise Association.

- Student Technology Fee Plan Committee
- Academic Senate Committee on the Budget

Faculty Executive Committee 2024-2025 Academic Year Meeting Calendar
The FEC meets at least once a month. The meetings are usually every fourth Tuesday and when needed.
