Nutrition
This concentration offers a multidisciplinary, critical perspective on food, nutrition and community health. Students will learn the science of nutrition, including nutrient composition, physiological requirements and functions, and environmental influences that are determinants of human health and disease.

Exercise Science
Students will develop a foundation which will prepare them to pursue a degree in the health sciences such as exercise physiology, athletic training, health promotion, physical therapy, physical education, sports medicine, cardiac rehabilitation.

Physical Education
Students will learn about the current issues and philosophies of the profession and to promote physical activity and sport. Students will observe Physical Education teaching and organization in the field, demonstrate an understanding of lesson planning, content assessment and practice teaching.

Personal Training
Students will learn about the personal training profession and develop the skills commonly utilized by members of the profession. It will provide a strong foundation for students who wish to obtain various personal training certifications. The courses will cover anatomy, physiology and biomechanics as well as, nutrition, body composition, weight control and fitness assessment. Increasingly, employers such as health clubs, hospitals, YMCAs, and similar organizations are looking to hire individuals with degrees in personal training rather than just a personal training certification.
