CUNY requires all students to demonstrate proficiency in English (reading and writing) and math in order to enroll in credit-bearing courses. Visit the CUNY testing website for the benchmark scores that demonstrate proficiency.

Starting with the spring 2020 entering class, students who do not meet benchmark scores will no longer be administered a placement test; rather, CUNY will use a proficiency index. The proficiency index combines overall high school grade point average with SAT and/or Regents exam scores. There are separate proficiency indexes for English and math. Due to the testing disruptions caused by the pandemic, the University will not collect or use SAT or ACT scores for admissions or proficiency determinations for the Fall 2021 or Spring 2022 admissions cycles. The University will continue to collect Regents exam scores and use them for proficiency determinations during this time and will continue to run the proficiency index based on Regents exam scores (when available) and an applicant's high school GPA.

Under special circumstances, some students may still be required to take a placement test. These students will be notified by the University; it is important to check your email frequently for further information.

All Queensborough students are required to submit proof of MMR immunizations and proof or waiver of meningitis immunization. For more information and to download forms, please visit Health Services.

Transfer Credit Evaluation (Transfer Students Only)

If you have previously attended a college or university, you must submit all official transcript(s) to The Office of Admissions for a transfer credit evaluation.

Students with advanced college/university coursework or foreign credentials may need to provide additional documentation for approval from the appropriate academic department. These may include course descriptions that indicate individual course title(s), material covered, textbooks used and any other information about the course to determine the number of transfer credits to be awarded.

For inquiries about transfer credits, email [email protected]

CUNYfirst is your student information account system, offering you quick and easy access to important information in one convenient location. Your CUNYfirst account allows you to enroll in classes, pay your bill online, view your academic and financial information and much more. For instructions on setting up your account, click on: CUNYfirst

If you have questions about claiming your account, please contact our IT Help Desk at [email protected] or call (718) 631-6330.

Advisement and Registration appointment invitations will be sent to the email address listed on your CUNY admissions application. During your appointment, you will have an opportunity to discuss your academic and career goals with an advisor who will also assist you with your class selection and registration.

If you are a transfer student, a credit evaluation must be completed prior to your advisement and registration appointment.

Please allow up to one (1) hour for your advisement and registration appointment.

Every student at Queensborough is given an Office 365 email address at the time of registration. Don't miss out on important information about your classes, schedule changes, tuition bills, financial aid, campus events, scholarship opportunities, and so much more! Once you receive your student email address, you must create your password immediately so you can begin to receive official College communication.

New York State's Enough is Enough (“EIE”) statute requires that all NYS colleges mandate students to complete ongoing education and training about sexual misconduct, including domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, sexual harassment, gender-based harassment, and sexual violence. At CUNY that training is called Sexual and Interpersonal Violence Prevention and Response Course (“SPARC”).

Please log into Brightspace to complete your SPARC training online. SPARC can be found in Brightspace. SPARC should take about 45 minutes to complete. If you do not complete your mandatory SPARC training by January 2022, a hold will be placed on your CUNYfirst account, and you will not be able to register for future classes.

Please take a picture, screen shot and/or save your results after you complete and submit your training. You will need to show proof of completion.

If you are having issues logging into or completing the SPARC training, go to Brightspace Support and/or QCC Title IX SPARC site for instructions.

Participate in your New Student Orientation to help kick off your first semester as a Queensborough student! You will learn about the resources and technology tools available as a new student to help you succeed. Check your email frequently for updates or call The Office of New Student Engagement at 718-281-5130 or send an email to [email protected].

Freshmen students are required to submit one of the following items as final proof of high school graduation:

  • Official high school transcript in a sealed envelope
  • Original high school diploma
  • Original GED, TASC, or HiSET diploma with the score sheet

NOTE: NYC DOE High Schools graduates do not need to send a final HS transcript if you entered your OSIS number on your CUNY application at the time of submission. This information will allow us to receive an electronic version of your final transcript with the date of graduation.

Transfer students are required to submit all final Spring 2021 transcripts reflecting the completion of Spring 2021 coursework.

To protect the health and safety of everyone in our community, we are delivering the majority of instruction, student support and administrative services from a distance. The most efficient way to send transcripts is electronically to our office at [email protected]. Many colleges use electronic services such as Parchment, Credentials Transcripts Network, National Clearinghouse etc. When using these services, request that a transcript be emailed to our office at [email protected]. If a transcript is sent directly to you and not the College, it will not be considered ‘official’, therefore be sure to have it sent directly to our office.

Official documentation can also be mailed to the following address:

Office of Admissions A-210
Queensborough Community College
222-05 56th Avenue
Bayside, NY 11364

**Please note** - Our staff is working remotely, and mail is picked up periodically. Transcripts sent by mail will take longer to process than those received via email. We recommend email delivery for all transcripts.

Congrats! You made it to the final step of your enrollment. We know that college is a big decision and here at Queensborough we are dedicated to helping you along the way. We encourage you to take some time to review the many resources that are available to you. If you have questions, concerns, or simply need additional information, feel free to reach out to us.

It is the responsibility of the student to self-identify as a student with a disability.

Students must contact OAS to schedule an appointment with the program director to register for services. It is the responsibility of the student to provide documentation (see documentation guidelines) to support the individual's request for any accommodations.

Students need to 1) complete the OAS Intake form, 2) submit documentation of disability that supports request for accommodation and 3) meet with the director to discuss eligibility.
