Student Clubs Outside the Classroom
The Engineering Technology Department offers a wide range of student clubs on campus that focus their interest in the sciences, technology, and engineering.
1. Architecture Club
The Architecture Club meets every Wednesday in MC 146. It shows videos on architectural topics and designs and hosts guest speakers from industry. The club also takes field trips to Manhattan and other sites in the Tri-state area. The club runs about 25 events per semester.

2. IEEE Club
The IEEE Club is a student-run organization affiliated with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), offering students a dynamic platform to explore and engage with emerging technologies in electrical engineering, computer engineering, and related fields.
As part of the club, members have the opportunity to design and develop electronic or computer-based projects of their choice, working hands-on experience and innovation. The club actively connects students with industry professionals by hosting guest speakers from various engineering sectors and organizing field trips to industry sites, providing valuable insights into real-world applications of engineering principles. Additionally, IEEE Club members are encouraged to expand their leadership and networking opportunities by participating in the QCC Student Government, where they can contribute to campus-wide initiatives and student advocacy efforts. Through collaborative projects, industry engagement, and leadership development, the IEEE Club serves as a gateway for students to enhance their technical skills, build professional connections, and prepare for careers in engineering and technology.

3. Mechanical Engineering Technology Club
The club supports and encourages students interested in careers in mechanical engineering. The club regularly discusses the latest mechanical engineering technology and participates in student competitions.
Faculty advisor: Dr. Kee Park, KPark@qcc.cuny.edu (T-9F)
4. Robotics Club
The club is a vibrant and collaborative student organization dedicated to exploring the exciting field of robotics through hands-on projects, discussions, and events. Our members work diligently to share ideas, exchange opinions, and collectively engage in the study, design, and construction of robots. While we are deeply passionate about robotics, we also value campus-wide collaboration and actively participate in inter-club events and activities. The club has co-sponsored several events, developing connections with other student organizations and creating a well-rounded experience for our members. Looking ahead, we aspire to compete in intercollegiate robotics competitions and fairs, showcasing our engineering expertise and teamwork on a broader stage. These competitions provide a valuable opportunity for students to apply their knowledge, develop problem-solving skills, and engage with other robotics enthusiasts. The Technology Faculty has been incredibly supportive of our mission, offering guidance, resources, and encouragement, which strengthens our confidence in achieving great milestones. Additionally, we extend our gratitude to the Student Government for its unwavering support, which has enabled us to expand our initiatives and create an enriching experience for our members.
5. Tau Alpha Pi National Honor Society
Tau Alpha Pi or ASEE, Inc., is organized exclusively for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes, more specifically to provide recognition for a high standard of scholarship among students in engineering technology programs to promote and encourage scholastic achievement by offering membership to outstanding students; and to engender certain desirable qualities of personality, intellect, and character among its members. The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) is a professional membership organization dedicated to advancing engineering and engineering technology education. As part of this mission, student members actively support their peers by offering free tutoring services in various subjects within the Engineering Technology Department, helping to increase academic success and a collaborative learning environment.
To be eligible for regular membership, applicants must:
- Be enrolled in an Associate degree program.
- Have accumulated 15 credits toward that degree.
- Have a grade-point average of at least 3.5.
- Be of good character and possess recognized qualities of citizenship.
- *Provisional membership may be granted to first-semester freshmen if they present evidence of academic excellence from high school.
