Course Description in college catalog:

Design and analysis of steel, reinforced concrete, and timber structures. The behavior of architectural materials in stress and intuitive reasoning related to the mathematical treatment of equilibrium in static structures. Practice in the preparation of structural drawings. Use of structural design codes and specifications.

Evaluate down complex structures and isolate each member of a framing system, to determine their internal stresses by following common procedures and implementing the proper formulas.

Analyze a design or a conceptual plan and determine the most cost efficient or the most practical framing solution for it.

Obtain solutions using material specifications and their structural solutions.

Select different systems and materials based on convenience, cost, labor and ease of construction.
