The minutes of May 31, 2022 were reviewed and approved.

Ewa Stelmach offered useful suggestions for the new chair about properly distributing responsibilities across committee members

After committee secretary resigned, Ryan Brannan volunteered to become secretary for Spring 2023

Reviewed 51 applications and decided to approve 31 applications, 17 pending the students reach criteria, and 3 were declined.

Discussed ways to improve committee member participation in voting on applicants for Spring 2023

  • Benjamin Miller suggested chair meet with incoming committee members early in the Spring so they are prepared for end of semester applicant review
  • Tim KEogh (chair) agreed this is a good idea and will meet with new committee members in spring to offer a ‘tutorial’ about the award criteria, spreadsheet navigation, and voting protocol

Committee agreed on two meeting dates for the spring: May 12, 2023, and May 17, 2023

Meeting adjourned

Respectfully submitted,

Tim Keogh
