- Review Committee Meeting Minutes December 7th, 2023
- Discussion related to continuing education department promoting non-degree credit options for adult learners.
- Discuss how best to help students earn credit for prior learning. Update from Dean Pullin.
- Discuss how best to advertise CEWD training programs or how to make the works/services of the CEWD department known to the rest of the college/departments
- Discuss if we can link some of our CEWD programs to degree programs on QCC website. By linking CEWD programs to degree programs on our website, our degree students may take these training programs as optional pre-requisites or co-requisite programs, or they can consider getting some certifications upon completion of their degrees to boost employability and skills. This way we can also improve advertisement of our CEWD programs not only to current students but also relatives and friends of our students since the CEWD training programs will be distributed all over the website. - Discuss whether and how the CEWD committee can have access to descriptive statistics of CEWD enrollment and graduation rates to better help the CEWD department. This way the CEWD committee can be in better position to provide feedback to proposed courses/programs and existing ones within CEWD department.
- Review CEWD charges to better reflect the work that needs to be done by committee members.
- Discuss whether we should rephrase some of the CEWD charges?
- Discuss efforts by the CEWD committee and department to help communicate opportunities for employment for our CEWD graduates.
- Update (form Alison Cimino) on a grant that has been awarded to QCC, for Thrive Technical Assistance Program, funded by the John Jay College Institute for Justice and Opportunity, with support from President Mangino. https://www.collegeandcommunity.org/thrive-program.
