The Academic Senate Committee on Pre-College, Continuing Education & Workforce Development met on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 1:30 PM in A-104


Committee Members in Attendance:

Philip Nelan, Wenjian Liu, Rommel Robertson, Alison Cimino, and Gabriel Lataianu

The meeting was called to order at 1:30 PM

Approval of Minutes: Minutes Approved

Elections for 2019-2020

We held elections for 2019-2020 year and the results were unanimous to maintain the same positions for chair and secretary.

Chair: 5 for Philip Nelan to be Chair

Secretary: 5 for Alison Cimino to be Secretary

Annual Report: We will regroup to work on the Annual Report

Due June 30th

(Work out the minutes and expand on it for the Annual Report)

(May be a small report since we had a shorter meeting with Vice Pres. Ward)

The committee looks forward to the new Vice President of Pre-College and Continuing Education

We say goodbye to Rommel and thank him for all of his assistance in helping us transition to our new roles. Thank you, Rommel for a seamless transition.

We also say goodbye to Joel Kuszai as our Academic Steering Committee Liaison and thank him for his kind support. We welcome Agnieszka Tuszynska as our new Academic Steering Committee Liaison.

We discussed the Academic Senate Committee and how helpful it was to have an overview of the meeting provide for Chair.

 We also discussed the ideas that Alison & Agnieszka discussed of having an outreach for formerly incarcerated students and unanimously supported the idea and support the research for next year. The committee intends to discuss the proposal with the incoming Vice President next year.

 We need to find a replacement for Carol Goldfond, as she is no longer at QCC. The committee will consult with Joel Kuzai to discuss her replacement. We have 5 and we should have 6 members.

We have two new members.
